Wire Bicycle Baskets

Wire Bicycle BasketsIs it my old Schwinn bike worth anything?

I have an old Schwinn bike my grandfather gave me and I wondered if it was worth nothing. serial number is en615980. It has folding wire baskets on each side on the back. If anyone knows something about old bikes and share any information it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Based on the serial number was manufactured in May 1976. The climax of Schwinn when they were as common as potato chips.

There are still millions of them around "storage for 30 years" condition. They make very little money because there are still so many people around, but absolutely perfect in original condition.

I think it is probably close to any value, perhaps in the range of $ 25-30.

What is the model of the bike and a picture will help.

It is worth something. Like almost all old and collectible it is worth what you can get for it.

Condition and authenticity is everything when it comes to price. You do not mention at all that the state it is in. is the original paint? Are all the stickers on the bike? Is there rust? How much rust? Are there bumps and blows? Most of the information you give is the folding baskets, which are still sold and are probably not good period.
