I live about 30 miles from my college, is it possible to walk around in a few hours? I do not bike that often, I usually drive everywhere I go, but I prefer the fresh air and I want to feel accomplished haha.
I really want to go to university one day, but that would take place a long time!
so I decided that I should try the bike one day instead!?
A day trip should be achievable with a couple of weeks of preparation and training.
In addition to all the other answers, you must take into account the terrain and climate. 15 mph is a good pace, but if all the hills, particularly in cities, climbing slow you down more than descents can catch up. Similarly, if it is completely flat, there is no breathing, "which contribute to your overall fatigue and make the journey home to all that much longer.
Do not say where you live, but we're headed into winter. I live in Florida and there are still days when even do 15-20 miles a painful experience.
If you are thinking long-term travel, investigate alternatives to dive in. Try to find a way (bus with bike rack?) To begin cycling in a shorter distance. And then, only do it 2-3 days a week for a while. I think that is youu'll is not for you or you do every day and taking the long way home.
Good luck!
It should be quite possible if you can average about 15 miles per hour on your bike. Unless it's a real turn congested I doubt it will be a problem for you.
Yes, a person can walk / run about 1 km every 10 minutes, then assuming you're * 1.5 speed, thats all 1.5 kilometers 10 and an easy pace, so about 9 km / h 48.28032 km and therefore takes 5h?!
impossible
calcuate your speed and distance = velocity equation in time /
It depends on your ability to bike. You need to have a snack and water and go.
You are talking 60 miles per day, plus go to school. Pretty daunting task for someone does not bike much anymore.
Try dual mode of transportation: If you have a party bus going or more in the way, ride to the bus stop, put bike on bus, get off near the school and fit the rest of route. Check the bus schedule for better recovery time vs. distance.
Or find a friendly safe place to park your car, take bike and drive away, mount the rest of the way to school and back.
In all cases, you need a good bike for road speeds, and a safe place to hide. Leave your $ 50, 7 pounds lock and chain to school, do not wear in each direction every day.
Yes, it is very possible. A recreational cyclist who is training regularly will easily fill a race of 50 km (31 miles) in a time between 1 hour 10 minutes and 2 hours, depending on the terrain.
The type of bike you ride also have an effect on how long it takes.
If you have not done training, I recommend that you first training over short distances before attempting to cycle the 30 miles to the university.
