The advance on my new mountain bike is too short, has three rings. How can I increase the length farther? my Reba fork is a shock rock (Specialized Rockhopper pro)
Need an expert opinion.
Thank you
Replacing the upper classes with a stalk of great height or elevation of the new handle is the only thing you can do more than replace the fork.
The stem is strong riser Satori, but I have not recommended for mountain bikes at all.
I'll paste this to another question I answered a few days ago on a bike freeride ..... The same info pretty well. : O)
"You are limited by the length of the fork steerer tube ..... if you do not have any tube on the left (indicated by one or more struts on the upper surface of the rod under the CAP), then you 're a bit screwed. You can try a rod with an increase, but almost all of them are xc-quality and much longer than you have now ..... you would have probably hate towards a longer stem on this bike.
Your best bet is to find a handlebar with a higher place ..... If you already have a 2 bar riser, I think you can always find a bar with more height. Azonic Check and FireEye. Good places to look for something like that are www.ride-this.com and www. chainreactioncycles.com
Note: DO NOT use one of the small "extension rod" thingy on the market. It is a vertical extension that goes right on the head tube / headset, and you put your rod on the upper end of the extension. Bad idea, unless you're just pedaling around the neighborhood. "
bars mount above are the only option. You understand that there should be a 50/50 weight distribution between arms and legs, right? That is why the bike is designed as it is ....
