Defining a Speedometer Schwinn bike? It is a model with two buttons. Seems more recent (but not red and silver) and has something like 12 functions. I recently changed bikes and I need to fix it to four figures for my bike today. Does anyone know how? I know it's a little math, but in what units of measurement? Thank you for any help!
I found the most accurate way is to put my valve stem directly on the crack in my garage floor to the six o'clock position. So I push my bike so the wheel moves exactly one revolution. I mark this point with a marker. I then measured the crack from the felt pen mark in inches. (If you are already in the country a metric unit, you can ignore the "inch" part and measured in millimeters.)
Then I take my measurements and go to a website conversion to metric units and convert inches to millimeters.
If you need help to reset the numbers, press both buttons for about five seconds. The unit is empty, he flashes a default setting, usually something like 2242. This is where you calibrate your device.
FYI, the way it works is it calculates the wheel RPM and the number of calibration to calculate the speed of the bicycle is in motion.
