Can I ride my bike from my California Street in San Francisco to Muir Woods? I try to finish off our rental car for a few days during our trip. Is it possible to cycle the streets of California in San Francisco to Muir Woods? Google maps says it is a journey of 30 minutes. The roads in the woods conducive to cyclists? Thank you pour votre aide.
Hello! Welcome to SF! You have given yourself a real challenge - I hope you're in great shape ... Most clients are in SF downtown or to the Marina district. If yes, traveling at the Embarcadero, along the edge of the land around Crissy Field (which is a very pleasant walk, but with headwinds.) As you approach the Golden Gate, there is a fishing Line up the road. Take That to the outside (west) walkway bridge - beautiful walk. On the next Marino, follow the road through Sausalito (good food, lots of shopping.) Past Sausalito, take the road west to Mill Valley, Highway 1. Hence, it is uphill for several miles on a two-lane road, which falls in a valley where Muir Wood is (you have to get out of the suite.)
Personally, I think you will find most rewarding to ride your bike in Sausalito, and another time to take your car to Muir Woods.
Welcome to CA! I hope you have a wonderful time here.
Yes, you can still Highway 1 is narrow and busy. Over the road is steep. You can find some small groves of redwoods in the small towns in Marin. There are many cycle tracks, you are in the home of mountain biking. Riding on the Golden Gate is a must. From there, you must exit Saualito. Research the bike trails on the line in Marin County there are great possibilities for upscale suburbs, in addition to Mt Tam. and mountain biking.
It is one hour drive from Marin County. It would take you 45 minutes to cross the Pont Saint-GG California cycling. From Highway 101 in Marin is a winding road up to an hour to reach Stinson Beach. And I guess that 45 minute bike ride to Muir Woods. It's crazy. You can find great spots to ride in the Bay Area, without trying to go to Muir Woods. I'm sure it will take 3 hours.
