Road Bike: Formatting Fun Way If you're like most people in America, you're probably looking to get in shape a little better. Of course, we all know that this is not as easy as it seems. Finding the time can be difficult, but finding the motivation may be even more difficult when you look forward is a long slog on the treadmill. You need a means of exercise that you enjoy, rather than fear. If you can not wait to go do your workout, you are definitely in much better shape.
For me and many others, the road bike fits that description perfectly. Nothing else is quite like the feeling of freedom and speed that you get to ride a road bike, watching the miles flying by you at your own proppel power through the picturesque countryside. You get one of the best workouts there is, but you should not even notice. Instead, you shoot yourself in the race your friends at the top of the hill, or make sharp turns as you fly on a winding mountain road at a similar speed.
The reason for this road bike is a great workout, besides the fact that its a ton of fun, is that it works multiple energy systems of the body. Most of you are probably familiar with the concept of "aerobic" and "anaerobic" exercise. Without going into details, we can summarize aerobic exercise than long, slow, gradual exercise that allows your heart rate and anaerobic excerise the shortest, the high intensity effort. Working both systems is essential for optimal fitness, and the road bike does just that.
For example, when you make a long, slow, flat ride, help you work your aerobic system. When you're sprinting the last part of a steep hill climb, you get an intense anaerobic workout. You can control what kind of workout you, but what kind of trip you take. It's that simple.
So what does it take to get your hands on a great game like that? Well, fortunately its fairly simple. With just a bike, shoes, helmet, appropriate clothing, accessories and a few others, you're off and ready to go. Since its just cycling, you do not need to take any special classes to learn what you do. Of course, there will be a slight learning curve if you have never ridden a road bike before.
Compared to the inexpensive, heavy, most bikes cheap awkward spend their lives on horseback, a road bike will feel a great car listening to sports. In other words, it will be nervous and quick, and you need to be careful to avoid crashing. Do not worry, though, you'll catch on soon enough that you start riding.
In fact, once you go with the horse, you will discover one of the best things about road cycling: the rise. The higher you go, the more you get. Soon you'll be on your own calendar on your favorite rides, trying to break your previous records. In doing so, you're literally watching you in better shape and have a blast while doing it!
So I hope that this helped you see a little what road biking can do for your fitness. It's easy, fun, and can last a lifetime. Visit your local bike ship today, or read on to learn more about this great sport.
