bicycle storage and outdoor humidity? My husband has a nice bike it was a gift several years ago and we were going to get rid of if, but decided to keep it. Well all of a sudden hes related as his child. It is currently holding in our family room and unfinished when we have finished the family room they need to go elsewhere.
Well we have a shed, no garage, thats decent size. This is not leak but it open triangles on the sides at the top, which can be easily closed.
It is hell bent on not putting it in the shed, because it will rust ... I asked him what he would do with her family and that Orr is not the bicycle storage room with the hanging, the family room. So I looked for ways to make the presentation more acceptable to him.
What's wrong with sticking a bike in a shed? Its not going to rust overnight, its not even going to get wet. The moisture will not get the humidity is like everything else where we live (Western Washington).
What are the alternatives to pay for storage other than inside? Everything? Is he just being stubborn and paranoid? Even a new plastic hanger or wooden shed would still be subject to the same conditions ...
All three of my bikes (2 steel, a carbon, a value of $ 500 to $ 2,000) live in the garage year non-climate controlled all year, and none of them has a spot rust. moisture usually does not rust the bike if you live in a rainforest. Of course, it helps to keep it clean, lubricated, and, uh, mount it from time to time ^) I would worry that if the rain, wet leaves, or you can enter the warehouse .
But it seems that your problem is related to your marriage, and not with the bike. Marriage is a two way street. Maybe there is something you can do for him that will make him more amenable to putting the bike in the shed?
LPCB approved offers www.asgardsss.co.uk blocking of bike shops with hidden panels broken, so there is airflow around the bike consstant prevent moisture accumulation. In addition, they are as hard as you can get. Report Abuse
As he had the bike a few years and there is no rust, must have had in a climate controlled conditions. Better keep there.
My experience with the maintenance of bikes outside in a shed was the nuts and bolts, even chrome handlebars rust.
Nothing unusual about serious cyclist keeping their prized horses inside.
Warning.
You do not want to end up sleeping in the shed ....
<wink> <wink>
Seriously, I keep my bike every day in the garage (single, no climate control), and they seem to do OK. I can not imagine the shed would be different. I keep my machine running in the basement, though.

Edit: Again, watch out. It is the wrong forum to use the words "stupid" and "bicycle" in the same sentence. My gut tells me that the move to the right would be to encourage him to go rather than dispose of it. All the guys have mental images of the WHO and what they would be. This could be a clue as to what happens in his head.
