One of the greatest appeals of mountain biking is that it is a unisex sport. ATV does not discriminate on the basis of sex. It does not eliminate participants due to age or ethnicity in its early years it was largely dominated by men and boys, but now women and girl mountain bikers are joining the party in record numbers .

ATV girls began to realize the importance in the sport, thanks to teams of girls mountain bikers fielded by many U.S. high schools. High school mountain biking programs allow women students to master techniques necessary for success in girls mountain biking competitions, and many of them are equal to men bikers in their schools.

NorCal

The NorCal High School Mountain Bike League, founded in 2001, opened the world of mountain biking to Elena Spittler girls, who was the league champion girls mountain bike in 2005. She joined the Berkeley High School Mountain Bike Team as one female member, it suffices to prove that girls can succeed in sport. She struggled to keep up with the boys during their first year of the team, but when she was a senior, Elena was ranked third of his younger male teammates.

Two years after having struck a blow for girls mountain bike at his high school, there are seven girls on the team, and the total number of participants in girls mountain biking for the entire NorCal High School Bike Mountain League has doubled.

The league now has a summer camp for girls mountain bike and intend to host a girls mountain bike mini-camp in the first part of the high school racing season to help the girls competing improving their skills and build their confidence. The league has committed to these specific activities daughter, and is also training its team coaches in methods of recruitment and working with candidates girls bike.

These clinics and camps for girls mountain biking cover a variety of topics. Girls are required to maneuver their bikes over natural obstacles and down steep slopes, learning to balance, dexterity and control needed for cycling competition in cross country skiing, endurance and short-term races. Mountain Biking Clinics Girls

The clinics emphasize the importance of the preservation of mountain bike trails, finding team sponsors, to raise awareness of the positive effects of girls mountain biking, cycling and improving individual skills. They encourage their students to develop their autonomy and challenge them in the same way as their male counterparts are challenged.

Thank you for the efforts of groups like the NorCal High School Mountain Bike League, girls girls and ATVs have "caught up" with the boys!
