Why are not motorcycle and bicycle pronounced the same? Moto ...
Bicycle ...
Spelled the same yet different sound why is that?
Colloquial or slang with different dialects. Time and the local population always change the pronunciation of things.
A bit like the old question: which came first, the chicken or the egg? In this case, the bicycle came first, so that is my name. In addition, motorcycles have .... engines! OMG!
lol, I do not think the first answerer receives the item. you want to know why the bikes are not motor called "sickle" and vice versa, good question
If you are referring to different ways of cycle is pronounced, it varies from region to region, even in ares where they are pronounced the same. Other regions to adopt different ways of saying the word. In other think of the song that says you say tomato I say tomato, potato tell you that I say potato.
@ # $% Really good question. However, I do not live in the deep south, and some people do decide to bike as bike (rare, but I've heard).
in parts of Indiana and Ohio, they are, why do you talk funny? I do not want a pickle, I just want to ride my bike
They are pronounced the same.
