I take a trip to Germany and would like to cycle along the Rhine for a few days. Advice? I'm starting in the south of Koblenz and bike for 3-5 days to visit the towns and cities of the ancient river of the castle, I'm not sure where to start to plan something like that. I have a Eurail pass, so if I'm in traffic, or lazy, lol, I can get on board, but I do not know where to rent a bike and if I should return to the same place or what. Maps? B & B or hostels? Anyhelp would be appreciated.
Hello,
In Koblenz, you can rent bikes at two Palca, but the price in my opinion are quite high. With a little luck and with e-bay you might get a reasonably priced used bike for about 50-70 Euros. And you can keep it until you leave again.
Some cities of Nice in this area are, Radesheim, Bingen, Alzey, Koblenz itself, and many of the Loreley winetowns old in this area from small to smaller.
If you are interested in more inf and where to get one drop me an e.mail bike, as it would be nice to write here.
If you start to my favorite bike Koblenz to Trier (oldest town in Germany) along the Moselle because it is more picturesque, and not as the major highways along the way. Flag
Why not ask a travel agent instead? This will be more productfull.
The Rhein-Radweg (the bike path of the Rhine) from Remagen value is about 205 miles long, that the best section of Bingen Boppard.
The att. site of the German National Tourist Office can give an idea of the various tours and also has links to bike tours.
