Katana Bike

The Suzuki Katana considered a sports bike or a crotch rocket or is it considered more of a cruiser bike? Also, what is the difference between a Suzuki Katana GSX-and the same thing? How does a GSXR differ?

The Katana is more of a sport touring. Even a sport bike, but tamed for the masses. The components used on the bike are not as high quality and light weight. This keeps the cost down. The GSX is more of a track bike with plates. Lighter, more HP, better brakes. More aggressive riding position.

I think its considered a sport tourer

The Katana is a sport touring bike. It's a bit cheaper than the GSX-line of bikes. You must ask yourself what kind of driving you want to do. Motorcycles GSX have more aggressive riding posture (you lean way forward). you can commute on them, but you can back pain on long rides.
Sport touring bikes you're a little more standing on the seat. they are a bit more comfortable on long trips, but are also good for aggressive driving.
My personal opinion: If you opt for a sport tourer, go with the Yamaha YZF600R. Great bike for commuting or canyon carving.
If you want the simple spirit "sport" bike. go with the bike GSX.

Do not listen to the snobs, as 51 above. Every motorcycle is fun if properly installed and the Katana is no exception. He can not get the respect of a GSXR or a RR sport bike in the crowd, but it is much faster and capable enough to make you smile and enjoy (which is really what this is).

As someone else said, watch a squid GSXR an hour's journey, and then moan and groan as they try to get off the thing! The Katana will make long walks on the average length, is comfortable and cheap to buy and insure.

In other words: enjoy the ride, not only raises other riders because they do not have the bike you want.

R is lighter, more powerful, fuel injected and has a more aggressive stance. This new tech.

F (Katana) is essentially a very old GSX-R. It is cooled by air instead of liquid cooling, it is carbed instead of fuel injected, and it is heavy (more than 100 pounds heavier than the GSX-R). be old tech is cheap.

it would be a very good road tourer, but do not expect to follow with more than 600 cc sport bikes in a modern drag racing.

it is a great sport and a sport. a katana is a sport. A GSXR is a great sport. A motorcycle is a slight GSXR 600 would be about 350 pounds and 1000 is approximately 420 pounds (not take my word for it). A katana is about 500 lbs.

The Katana is between sport and cruiser. Nice to assemble and can be enjoyed in the city or open road.
