Do I need cycling shoes or a bike computer Garmin? if by "shoes" you mean clipless with cleats and shoes, that it will make you faster and safer
Garmin is the only amusement
WLE.
Garmin computers are fun to do, but there are drawbacks. First, they are expensive compared to ordinary computers. They can help you find your way, but can not a simple map. I thought they might be useful for traveling, but I think the battery life is limited, they must be recharged frequently, daily in fact. This means that if you have a guided tour, you must find a place to plug in every night, and carry the charger with you. For local attractions, you probably know the roads anyway. Some recent mobile phones can do more of what a computer can do in terms Garmin Mapping your turn. The shoes are needed. It is impossible to ride in comfort without a good pair of shoes. Good shoes and pedals can make your trips more effectively. I would say, get the shoes.

1) How old are your shoes comfortable? 2) Do you have Garmin? Have you lost often or if you're in the boonies and need to find your way?
Sometimes, depending on cost, you can afford to both about the same amount of money. If you went with a computer cable you would have enough for two. For a little more money you could get a wireless system base w / o crap techno and shoes too!
Your call .... I would go to both .... greed is good! :)
