Calories Burnt Cycling

Calories Burnt CyclingThe benefits of cycling

What I like about cycling is that it is pleasant, it makes me see outside of the places I could not see otherwise, and is very beneficial to my health. Thus, in addition to being fun, cycling is a great way to get in shape and can cause many health benefits too.

So, how good is cycling for you?

There are a number of ways your body benefits of cycling, but perhaps the most important in terms of helping to prolong your life are cardiovascular benefits.

Cycling is what is called "aerobic" exercise. Aerobic exercise improves the use and consumption of oxygen in the body. While this in itself may not look like anything special, it makes results in a number of advantages ... Regarding the heart, the bike may strengthen the heart muscle which means he is stronger and can pump blood more efficiently. It also strengthens the muscles used for breathing, and thus allows the flow of air into and out of the lungs. The whole flow of the body is improved, which helps reduce blood pressure, and the number of red cells in the body is increased, allowing the flow of oxygen.

All these factors will contribute to improve the functioning of your heart and respiratory system, which should in turn reduce your chances of developing heart disease.

There are other health benefits as well: Aerobic exercise works by breaking down glycogen in your body and the production of glucose. Glucose is then broken down by oxygen to produce energy. If we cycle for a longer period, and the work ourselves a little harder, all the reserves of glucose in the body will be used. When this happens our body is our turn to be fat reserves, breaking down fat to produce energy. Of course, we all know that when excess fat is broken down which should in turn lead to weight loss.

Probably more obvious to many people the benefits muscle, because cycling can tone many muscles of the body. This tour will give you more strength and flexibility, and you must notice that even in your daily life, as many tasks will be easier than you fitter.

Finally there is the fact that cycling can be enjoyed by many people for whom other sports are not possible. Jogging or running have a greater impact on joints and can be enjoyed by many people with arthritis in the knees, for example, so that cycling can.

I recommend you spend some money on a bike computer. You hook up on your bike (do not worry, it's not a complicated procedure!), Then by model, you can keep track of various things while cycling. Try to find one with multiple functions - obviously they are: distance traveled during the trip, the trip time, total distance traveled, current speed, average speed, and calories burned. Do not forget that the calorie counter is only a guide, but it is gratifying to see the growing number anyway!

If you use the computer by bicycle every time you make a turn, you can keep track of all your statistics. You can then use this information to track your increased fitness levels. You should see your numbers improve after several weeks of regular bike.

These are just some of the benefits of cycling on top of my head. The fact is that cycling is a sport that nice will get you fit and healthy while having fun. If you do not already, go and get a bike and start biking. And have fun getting fit.
