Bike stand ...? Ok so I am sure that these things exist: a stand to put your regular bike so that it turns the bike into a stationary exercise bike.
The only thing I do not know the technical term for one of them and where to get and a cheap but effective at this.
any suggestions would be great!
Thank you!
They are called stationary trainers. You can get them to alter prices at your local bike shop, or shop online. People call the trainers for short.
they are called trainers, and they are designed to lift the rear wheel. Trainers always provide some form of resistance to simulate pedaling force required to move a bike forward. the least expensive to use a fan, but they tend to be somewhat noisy and the lack of resistance setting. other more costly to use other means such as fluid or magnetic resistance and, often, you can adjust the strength of these units (and they are generally quieter).
some advice, once you get one:
use an old book and put it under the front wheel, so overall the bike is level. Otherwise, you will be inclined forward.
If you have a mountain bike with knobby tires, you may want to swap back for a smooth tire thread so it does not feel bumpy. a tire must operate at low price $ 15-20.
use a fan too. If you bike for real, your movement forward by the air that cools. but on a coach, you overheat quickly.
happy running!
