Trails

Controversy

Like all mass sports related attractions, trails the North Shore have prevailed in much controversy with the local population complained of off-road bikers disturbing their property. In some areas near mountain trail, new developments threaten existing trails and on Eagle Mountain Burke.

Due to the influx of new residential growth and tourists to mountain biking, the region has been a North Shore Mountain Biking Association mediation between cyclists and residents and to try to maintain the trails. Also responsible for more fun as races and annual events, the NSMBA is one of the first mountain bike associations in Canada.

Whistler

For those familiar with world class skiing and boarding in the resort of Whistler-Blackcomb in British Columbia, it is not surprising that the mountain offers world class mountain biking when the snow begins to melt.

Sent from April, the season of mountain biking has until the end of the summer, using the many ski lifts and wide open spaces to organize many events biking. In years when snow lingers a little longer, the season could go mountain biking a bit short at the top of the mountain, but generally lower lifts are open at the end of April.
