Please can you recommend a book of bike maintenance? Hello, I'm fairly new to cycling and have been getting to work. The store where I bought the bike were very (small independent) to sort a few teething problems, but I wish I had a little more complicated with my bike. Can someone please recommend a book of cycle maintenance me become familiar with the basics such as adjusting brakes, gears, etc.
Thank you in advance
Although the park has an excellent website (probably better than any book on the market), I am not impressed at all with their book.
Bike Magazine and Zinn both have good books .... in fact, they are almost identical as you navigate through them. As much as I respect Mr Zinn, I think the book Bicycling Mag is better. Either one is fine, however, and very easy to use.
Honestly, for most bases, the park's Web site is one of the best things that happen, and it's free.
Make sure you buy decent tools, especially when it comes to cones, Allen keys / bits, and breaks the chain. If you're serious about this, please buy these two tools that few people have: an indicator of chain wear (about $ 10), and a derailleur adjustment tool ($ 50 from the park). Both are well worth the purchase and you will save bundles of cash in the long term.

It's perfect. That is what my bike shop uses, too.
EDIT: Yeeow! I'm sorry! Zinn and the Art of Road Bike Maintenance by Lennard Zinn. I own one of his creations, and you think I remember his book! Thank you, Torrey.
Zinn and the Art of Mountain Bike Maintenance by Lennard Zinn ... easy to understand, many illustrations and almost everything in it!
