Is it normal to have a Harley noise lifting?? I've been cycling for over Japan 20 years and just got my first Harley. I noticed that he seems always to have a sound of lifting a little less in the tank. The bike is a 2001 Softail Classic Heritige., 16,000 km, with the Twin Cam 88B, cons engine balanced. Please, that the experience of Harley owners must meet.
You hear the sound of the rocker and yes some is normal.
It took me a while to get used to, just listen to the other bikes. This should put you at ease.
Unless it is excessive or worse, it is probably just noise rocker arms.
The buttons are below the base of the bottle on the right side.
The simple answer is yes. The hydraulic lifters are they just noise, but this does not mean that everything that goes wrong as long as the bike stock pushers. For me it always looked like a snap. Enjoy your trip and have a good time.
This is a normal thing. For me, it looks more like the rings on a dirt bike. Do not worry. Another thing, if you go to a synthetic oil you hear a little more. I have a 05 Deuce with the engine cons too balanced and they all sound the same. The warmer air temp more you hear a certain extent. Gotta remember, these bikes burn gas good ol American and not the rice. lol
No, it tech.diagnose Harley
take the bike into a dealership and a technician to listen to the engine, (which should be free). If the noise is normal valves, then they will tell you and give you peace of mind.
The beginning Twinky had problems with bearings and cam chain tensioners distribution. The sound of these two problem first manifests as noise from the left or right side of the bike.
Yes and the oil drop by drop, too!
they have the sound of lifting, they also have a lifespan of about 30,000 miles. have owned a few hard drive hoists and changed around 30,000. Evo and twin cam
noise valve train is normal.
The twinkies make much noise. Over the previous owner might have installed the Setup cam drive gear. This is an improvement over the chains, but are noisy.
go out and buy AMSOIL SYNTHETIC MOTORCYCLE MOTOR OIL 20W50 and I "promise" of lifting ur noise will go away!
All the guys use Amsoil HD, get with it man!
I just got a sportster 883 and it had a sound so I made the conversion with 1200 barrels of new pistons etc. and I still have that bloody noise. I took a few workshops and they say everything is normal its
