How important is it to have a function of the rate on your bike computer? I am training for a triathlon.
I would like to get one it will help a lot. You can get a Cateye Strada with Cadence for about $ 35.
How you're serious about training? Do you have professional aspirations, or you're just looking to have fun doing triathlons? What is the importance of pace for you?
Armstrong has always been known for its high speed, sprinters and time-trialers often work at higher rates as well. You can search on speed, maybe read some books like the Bible training cycling, serious cycling, and so on, and whether maintaining a high rate is a priority.
If so, by all means get a cyclo-computer with a cadence function.
Not at all important. Almost all bike computers has a clock that times the duration of your trip. Count your Cranking the clock runs for 20 or 30 seconds, multiply the # of turns 3 and 2, respectively, and voila ... beat! You will quickly be able to tell when you've dropped below your base rate w / o any help. It is simply not necessary if you can count, and I do not doubt that you can count!
you do not know the importance of the cadence I suggest goin to your local store and ask the same questions. they will be able to answer more personal information, benefits and demonstrate the use. someone who is somewhat serious about training and racing should know the advantages and purpose of their rhythm. keep in mind not all the same some of us use more pace, some slightly lower than AVG. AVG speed is 70-90 rpm.
Nice to have, but hardly critical. Most beginners try to push too fast, so its a useful training aid to remind you to downshift.
If you have problems with tracking your pace without one, it becomes important to you.
