What is the best bike trailer for me? I have a 2yr old and one month 10 years. I need a cart that is lightweight, folds easily and is easy to clean. I live on the second floor which means I must take completely out of my set-up every time I ride. Ease of use is tremendous, and I intend on improving inner tubes for those who are already filled with Green Goober and guaranteed not to go flat. If you have two children and you love to ride, I would like to hear what the make and model of cart you have. What do you dislike about your cart? So, what do you like in your basket? What is the function that you do not want to go without?
I hope to be able to get a bike trailer in the next two weeks and I would really like to get one that works best for me. Also, if you have any pointers I would like you to pass along.
Thank you for your time, I welcome your ideas and comments.
Chariot seem to be the industry leader. Many different models to choose well. Visit the website and then find a dealer who will demonstrate how fast they assemble / disassemble, how they are safe and the options that you can achieve with them. Could replace your current stroller.
There are many folding models based on aluminum tubes W shell / fabric, they are all decent.
I agree w the above reply - you may end up just pulling the trailer of the UN-crossed on the stairs, they are usually classified.
A person never talks big thing is the team. Each manufacturer has a slightly different, and they all suck. (My opinion). This is one reason you might want to check 'em in person instead of online. What happened to me (before I created my own team) has been moved under the towing actual use, and destroyed the spokes of my rear wheel. I was not a happy camper. Children learned new words that day.
Anyway, long ago we were lucky and spent $ 88 for a Sam's Club agreement, it did not fold, but has held up very well with a lot of abuse (as carrying 2 full coolers Camping Gear + 3 miles along a stony path on several occasions).
Summary: Do not worry too much, even the cheapo are decent, just make sure to look in person and are OK with the coupling system.
one you like best
Let's first make sure you can get a headset for your 10 months (And the child of two years of course). If the child has a smallish head that could be difficult.
I do not think you will have to completely separate to go upstairs. Once they are uncoupled and unloaded, they take the stairs quite easily. (Ours has 20 "wheels smaller might be a little more difficult), he come by a normal door is a little tight squeeze. Some models are a close contact, which could be worth checking.
If you need to win regularly, a team with a quick release would be a good idea. We have a clip on type. I do not understand uncoupling much but I'm still considering a change.
I do not think I would use it much cheaper and I bought a brand (like the Pacific and Phillips). I am very happy with this trailer, but this thing gets used a lot more than I expected. Had I realized how much I would have anchored on a more upscale. We got it for about 16 months and regularly clock up to 50 km (30 mile) per week. So far so good it has stood the task.
Storage space is ample, any place for diapers, changing clothes, toys, bottles, snacks, etc. that go with moving the kids around and there's even enough room for a mattress or groceries .
The only thing I needed to change was to install a foam insert in the children's backs, so the helmet does not move the eyes. (Essentially an inch and a half of medium density foam with box cover style pillow.) Posted on March 8, 2010.
