Can I buy a touring bicycle in Cuba? I plan to travel to Cuba in June for a month and maybe 2 weeks I want to cycle some of the country .... so was wondering what I can buy a bicycle and equipment to Cuba to do this? ... Or Should I bring a bike?
You're a tourist, you can buy the beard of Fidel, if you want. You are the king in our country thanks to communism.
I just returned from Varadero to Germany and my plane was a group of people bringing their own bike and hiking trails were.
But I also saw some bike shop in a tourist (do not know how they encrypted? Bicycles and sports shops seem in any case rare). I have also seen cyclists with bicycles rented Varadero.
I think it might be difficult to go bike racing, because some roads (not all) are in poor conditions.
I think the equipment is preferable to bear the house, especially a good lock.
The Lonely Planet Guide book mentioned the bike and gives advice on cycling in Cuba.
You can buy high-end bikes from Europe to Havana. I just returned from Havana and was visiting a mall near the hotel Commodro near Miramar Shopping Centre and had a sports shop with a fairly good selection of bikes and camping equipment. I think you would have no trouble getting what you need there.
