Did you know that BMX (bicycle motocross) racing will be in the Olympics of 2008? Yes, BMX racing for men and women will be part of new cycling events in the Olympics this summer in Beijing. a competing countries can send a maximum of 3 males and 2 females on the basis of world rankings. So far, no cyclist has ever been called yet for this event because the first qualifying tournament will be held May 29 to June 1, 2008 at the World Championship of BMX in Taiyuan, Taiwan. 6 high-performance sport men and 3 women cyclists will be eligible for the Olympics. After that, the remaining participants will be based on world rankings.
NO WAY THAT'S AWESEOME!
I had seen on TV racing BMX. I can only imagine the rules of BMX Olympic Games will be present .....
1. A competitor is disqualified for intentionally hitting another biker.
2. A competitor in the race if you fall off the bike. If this is not out of the race, he finished in last place ..... and no medals for him.
3. A competitor is allowed two false starts on his bike. A third false start disqualifies him.
Yes, it was added as a discipline in cycling. It was the right decision especially with all the scandals plaguing the traditional road race. While BMX will be a new breath of air.
Moreover track cycling is a discipline that dark, so popular in Europe never really caught on in the United States. So there is room for two in the sport of cycling.
Remember just because a sport began in the United States does not mean that we will always win all the medals. So spare me the retorica was just added that America can win more medals argument the media is so Bristish found help.
Yes I knew.
No false start on the grid well.
