Any ideas on how to mount a flashlight on the handlebars of bike? I bought a crank flashlight with the intention of using it for a bicycle light and tried to mount it with a coat hanger twisted around the handlebars .. it did not go as smoothly as planned ... other ideas?
A flashlight crank makes it interesting. I guess that is the size and shape of a hand. IE: long and flat, with a crank on the side, you must have access. I also wonder if you are able to bolt something to your handlebars. But OK, radiator hose clamps - cheap and easy to find.
They are small metal plate with slots each quarter inch barrel and a screw to keep them closed if you can find some of these, you could strap the flashlight on the handlebars. Now! Get a set of feet long clamp, as they use to attach the son together. They are cheap and flexible, and easy to use (no tools required). OK, the ideal would be to make a small box with a lockable lid, and a front end open or transparent plastic (for the light to shine through). Bolt the box to the handlebars, mount the flashlight, and off you go. Or you could just super glue the damn thing.
or buy some other bike has a handlebar attachment or just tape the flash and it wont go anywhere anytime soon
duct tape
bungee cord might work, but really you'd better buy a set of bicycle lights rather than playing with a flashlight. Duct tape is guaranteed to work but it is a solution in disorder.
If you frequently ride in the dark, buy a light that uses LEDs (halogen bulbs are more powerful than eat batteries) and operate with rechargeable NiMH batteries, you'll also need a NiMH charger - that can also be used for camera batteries.
ISN crank light; t will be bright enough to see where you go
WLE.
