How many bikes do I need? The cycling is your passion. You've reached the point where you want to go to the next level in cycling, and can afford the same facilities as the top professionals use. How many bikes do you need, and what should you succeed? When we examine the benefits that could get what they want, we find that they use a small number of bikes with different roles. The roles that I think are better than the job for them, and I can apply this model to cyclists who want the best:
1. road bike with Powermeter.
This is the first "daily" bike. Almost all the runners up and a growing number of active recreational riders use power meters. I recommend either an SRM or Powertap to compliment a solid road bike. I specify a rigid yet comfortable with Campagnolo Record Chorus or components (unless the client insists on Shimano, but that's another story!), And a set of wheels lightweight but strong as race or Reynolds Alta Spinergy Xero Lite . I develop the road "good" model for around this bike, as most of the time will be spent on IT to improve the form and technique. The triathletes also spend most of their time on this bike, learning to drive at high speed and improved handling skills for riding safely in groups with the fastest runners.
2. Light road bike for climbing, bike spare bike when primary is down for maintenance, and "Mental Health" rides.
The bicycle climbing is very effective, a lightweight machine that has a geometry similar to the primary motor, but with lighter components, and no Powermeter. When training using power, it is easy to concentrate on the number and lose a lot of sensory input we get from a "pure bike". I wish to inform you that a bicycle is more than one computer minimum, Garmin Edge, or even nothing at all, then you can either race through touch, or horseback riding well. Several times, the bike light out of recovery for rides, group rides fun, and aggressive group rides in the hills. I also find that many people like to put more exotic components on the bikes climbing, with less use and therefore may be more "sensitive" components.
3. Time Trial Bike.
This bike is only necessary for triathletes, and for people who want to test time. I do not recommend that the "only" bike, like the bicycle against the clock in the fast groups is strongly discouraged. These bikes do not handle well, and if it is in the Aero bars, you can safely participate in one step. Team time trials are different, of course, and training for them can and should be done on this bike. I think if you can go fast, smooth and straight on a road bike, the transition to the bike against the clock is easy, and can be done efficiently and safely.
4. or if travel bike travel.
There are advantages and disadvantages of each. It is really nice to travel and hiking. From a case can use his bike and go anywhere. Using a bike-share, one can get a copy of Titanium their custom road bike, in a durable format with a small travel case that is under the maximum business. This is great for international travel and for situations where a large chest is not possible because of small cars, etc.
5. track bike, with a range of road and a front brake.
This is certainly not for everyone, but is an ideal training tool. You can get a tremendous workout in a short period of time and may develop hyper-handling bike with a bike like this.
To summarize, I think that someone who wants to "do things", can greatly benefit from some models, with a large following parameters:
- A well defined Precision Laser assembly.
- An educated and informed plan to define the framework and components. These bikes last longer if planning by maximizing the enjoyment and makes i.
